Danny Postawa's blog

A look into aspiring photographer Danny Postawa's mind, heart, and photography
Its been awhile since I’ve been around. Mostly because I forgot my password on here for the longest time and finally decided to reset it. I tried to create a Wordpress account, but the internet here doesn’t want to load it up so here we are.
For those who don’t know, I withdrew from school in February to pursue a job opportunity here in Afghanistan. I’ve been here for almost 2 months now, but the days are blending together and every day appears to be Monday, if it’s not Monday, it’s Groundhogs day, which in terms, is still Monday.
I can’t go into much detail about what I due because I would be in violation of security measures and precautions, so I’ll leave all of that out.
My days aren’t too long and my nights aren’t long enough. My body is sore every day from the gym, but I’m accomplishing all of my goals. Im excited because my camera is on its way out here to Afghanistan so I’m hoping to capture some amazing portraits of people out here while I’m in this hell.
The attached photo I took on my iPhone with Instagram. Im going to try to update this more often now so I can keep my friends, family, and followers in the loop with my life, heart, mind, and photography.
With much love from a distant land.

Help save our veteran's benefits!

Okay followers,

I personally am a United States Marine veteran, and an Iraqi war veteran who has served 2 tours in Iraq. If you have not heard, Congress is pressing to cut 10 different benefits that veterans receive. My school benefits are at stake, my health care, and your family members who have fought for the country. Help the VFW, help your family and friends, and help me, and stand up against Congress and sign this petition to say NO, that they can NOT take what we have earned, and take away what they have promised us. Please help

Rest in Peace, Mom.

Hey Everyone

Just stopping in to let you all know I’ve been on vacation from school and enjoying the time off. How is everyone doing?

My Final Six term project, in its entirety. I focused on role models, specifically six men who throughout my life and throughout their friendships have helped shape me into who I am today.

I really cannot begin to express my gratitude towards these individuals. I hope you enjoy the series.

The Cost of War!

The Cost of War! is an ongoing photo project I am working on displaying injuries veterans have sustained while in combat. If you yourself are an injured veteran and would like to be a part of this series, please contact me, or if you know someone have them contact me if they’re interested.
